The agreement between your household and Magnet. Written to be read, not to be survived.
Who this is between
These terms are between Magnet and the person who creates a household (the account holder), who accepts them on behalf of everyone they invite into it.
Your account
- You must be an adult to create a household. Children use it through accounts you create for them.
- You are responsible for who you invite and what role you give them.
- Keep your password to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has it.
Your content is yours
Everything your household puts into Magnet stays yours. We do not claim ownership of it. We store and process it only to run the service for you: we do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to train machine learning models.
You can export it or delete it at any time from Settings.
Plans and payment
- The free plan is free, indefinitely. It is not a trial with a hidden end date.
- Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance.
- You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops future billing and moves you to the free plan at the end of the period you have paid for.
- Dropping to the free plan does not delete your content. Features above the free limits become read-only rather than disappearing.
- If we increase the price, we will tell you before it applies to you.
Fair use
Magnet is for running a household. Please do not use it to break the law, to harass anyone, to store someone else's data without their knowledge, or to attack the service. We may suspend an account that does, and will tell you why.
Availability
We work to keep Magnet running but cannot promise it will never be unavailable. Maintenance, outages at our providers and faults happen. Magnet is a convenience for organising a household, so please do not rely on it as the sole record of anything critical, such as medical or legal information.
Ending it
You can delete your household at any time, which removes its content from our systems. We may end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, and other than in clear cases of abuse we will give you notice and a chance to export first.
Liability
Magnet is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
Changes
If we change these terms materially we will tell you in the product before the change takes effect, so you can export and leave if you disagree.
